DON’T SACRIFICE BAMBI FOR INFRASTRUCTURE!

NOTES

1) Rally, Wed. Feb. 7 at 4-5pm Rep. Smith’s Freehold Office – 112 Village Center Drive Freehold, N.J. Please share!

CALL TOPIC
The White House is proposing to gut environmental protections hidden inside the 1.5 trillion dollar infrastructure bill. At least 10 environmental laws that protect the nation’s clean air, clean water, wildlife, and national parks would be subject to change. No longer would federal project sponsors be required to consult with stakeholders who would be impacted by new projects. “Streamlining the permitting process” should not require us to drink unsafe water, breathe bad air, and live among only a few species that can survive this assault.

CALL SCRIPT
1) Let’s call Congressman Smith’s office in D.C. at 202-225-3765…

Caller: Hello, I am a constituent of Rep. Smith’s; may I speak with the staffer who handles environmental issues?

I’m calling today express great concern about any assault on the environment in the name of expediting infrastructure projects as has been proposed in Trump’s infrastructure plan. The environmental laws established by Congress are designed to safeguard the health and safety of the American people. I expect Rep. Smith to work against any infrastructure plan that undermines fundamental environmental policy.

In addition, once again, I wish to remind the Congressman I do not support cuts to Medicare or Medicaid, especially since such excessive tax cuts were given to the wealthy. Thank you.

2) Let’s call our Senators (Booker D.C. 202-224-3224, Newark 973-639-8700; Menendez D.C. 202-224-4744, Newark 973-645-3030)…
