BONUS ACTION: Take action against Trump’s proposal to open 90% of US coasts to offshore drilling. Submit your comment through the link below to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) to tell them to keep oil rigs away from our coasts! https://sierra.secure.force.com/actions/National?actionId=AR0101303&id=7010Z000001P7cYQAS&ddi=N18ASAFB05&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=facebook&utm_content=offshore_comments

CALL TOPIC: Trump has proposed a budget that slashes Medicaid ($250 billion) and Medicare ($200 billion) and increases budget for the military, homeland security, and the border wall.  Food stamps would be replaced with boxes of food and the Affordable Care Act would be repealed.

CALL SCRIPT 1:
1) Let’s call Congressman Smith’s office in D.C. at 202-225-3765…

Caller: Hello, I am a constituent of Rep. Smith’s; may I speak with the staffer who handles BUDGET issues?

I’m calling to express my deep concerns about Trump’s 2019 budget plan. Drastic cuts to vital healthcare and the social safety net are not the way to help working-class Americans. I urge Rep. Smith to vote against any 2019 budget that slashes funding for Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, or public housing.  The border wall with Mexico should not be funded and damages our global reputation.

And just ONE more thing.  Since the Congressman has been in NJ fundraising, how about having a town hall so he can listen to his constituents.  Thank you.

2)Let’s call our Senators (Booker D.C. 202-224-3224, Newark 973-639-8700; Menendez D.C. 202-224-4744, Newark 973-645-3030)…

Caller: Hello, I am a constituent of the Senator’s; may I speak with the staffer who handles immigration?
