CALL SCRIPT
1) Let’s call Congressman Smith’s office in D.C. at 202-225-3765…
Caller: Hello, I am a constituent of Rep. Smith’s; may I speak with the staffer who handles government ethics?
I strongly urge Rep. Smith to call on President Trump to implement the Russian Sanctions signed into law in August 2017, which Rep. Smith himself voted in favor of passage. Trump’s refusal to implement new sanctions shows that he does not take seriously the US intelligence community’s assessment that Russia deliberately interfered in America’s 2016 presidential election and tried to tip the vote in Trump’s favor. This is a blatant disregard of the will of the public and Congress, and threatens our democracy.
In addition, I want Rep. Smith to take the following steps to protect the Mueller investigation:
-unequivocally state that if Trump were to fire Mueller or Rosenstein, or otherwise obstruct the investigation, that would be an unacceptable red line.
-cosponsor bipartisan legislation to prevent Special Counsel Mueller from being fired; H.R. 3654 the Special Counsel Independence Protection Act, and H.R. 4669 the Special Counsel Integrity Act. Thank you.
2) Let’s call our Senators (Booker D.C. 202-224-3224, Newark 973-639-8700; Menendez D.C. 202-224-4744, Newark 973-645-3030)…

If you have a personal story to relate to this issue, and are comfortable sharing it, please do – our elected officials want to hear how their policies affect our lives!
